In the XVI c., there were two villages in that region: Dojlidy and Bialystok, which belonged to two Tabutowicz'es sons. The name „Factory Dojlidy” appeared in XIX c. with the development of textile industry in the area of the settlement.

The Ortodox Parish in Dojlidy exists from 1486 (over 500 years) and it is older then the town Bialystok. In 1503 there was a wooden ortodox church with bell-tower under the invocation of Annunciation of Our Lady Mary. This church was founded by hetman Hrehory Chodkiewicz. Several times during it's history the church was rebuilding till the 1914. In the year 1920 church with whole property was deprived by roman-catholic clergy.

Till the 1946 Dojlidy`s parishioners had to take part in services in ortodox church under the invocation of st. Nicolas in Bialystok. After the end of second World`s War parishioners renovated the chapel-tomb of baron Rudiger, which was built in 1914. They began to celebrate the services there. In the summer of 1946 the chapel was completly renovated and in 1951 the chapel was extended and the copula was adoled. However, the building was still too small to satisfy the needs of the parish and there was no parish house. In 1963 the corner stone was put for building the new church, which was raising nearby the old one. In 1970, in the Day of Parish Feast was done the consecration of the new Ortodox Church in Dojlidy. The parish houses were built for parish-priest in 1959, for curates in 1976. Priest Aleksander Tomkowid rendered the great services to the Dojlidy parish being a parish-priest for 27 years. Nowadays the Dojlidy parish is serviced by 3 priest and 1 deacon. There are about 2000 parishioners in Dojlidy parish.
