Bishop Miron
 
    His Excellence Most Reverend MIRON (Miroslaw Chodakowski), Archbishop of Hajnowka was born on 21.10.1957 in Bialystok. In 1972 he began his studies in the Orthodox Spiritual Seminary in Warsaw. Since 1976 he was a student of the Higher Orthodox Spiritual Seminary in Jableczna. Having graduated he was working in the seminary as a steward, a teacher and a form tutor. In December 1978 the then governor of the monastery in Jableczna Archimandryte Sawa gave him a blessing for wearing a complete monk's suit. In the same month the late Metropolitan Basil ordained him a deacon and in February 1979 - a priest. In November 1979 he took the Holy Orders and was appointed a Governor of the Monastery in Jableczna as well as a rector of the local parish and vice-rector of the Higher Orthodox Spiritual Seminary. In 1981 he was appointed a governor of the Monastery in Jableczna. In June 1984 he was raised to the dignity of an ihumen. In October 1984 he was appointed a rector of the orthodox parish in Suprasl and a superior of the Monastic House in Suprasl. As a consequence of a restitution of the Monastery in Suprasl he was appointed of its governor. In 1990 the Holy Council of Bishops of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church raised him to the rank of Archimandryte. It was owing to him that the reconstruction of the church of the Annunciation of the Holy Virgin Mary and the monastic buildings was started. From 1993 to 1995 he was a spiritual father of the Orthodox Fellowship of St. St. Cyril and Methodius. On May 10, 1998, he was ordained a bishop, from title: Bishop of Hajnowka. By the Holy Council of Bishops and the Minister of the National Defence he was appointed to the post of the Orthodox Head of the Polish Army on 1st October 1998. Sooner, on 15th of August this year, during the army feast, he was appointed a brigadier general by the President of Poland Aleksander Kwasniewski. Since 10.05.2008 archbishop.
